Blue Nile Media Group supported an editorial design project for State Affairs, bringing together visual curation, caption writing, layout thinking, and custom icon development to strengthen the final publication experience.

April went above and beyond at every stage of the project, sourcing and curating stock photos we didn’t provide, writing captions and thinking creatively about how to make the design more functional. Her strategic use of full-color pages brought energy and focus to the layout, while the custom icons she created for the Senate and House of Representatives added instant visual clarity.

She was also a model freelancer: punctual, organized, responsive and proactive in her communication, including flagging days she would be unavailable well in advance. Creative, reliable and thoughtful, she was a standout partner and a pleasure to work with.
